Rumor from a Bucs board

That's a tough call for me. The Stan and Bobby incarnation of the Midnite Express was also a huge favorite of mine. Those two teams are certainly 1 and 1a in my book.

i liked the midnite express, jim i can do without. i got to know him personally in the 90's and he's somewhat of a backstabbing redneck.

The master of the Las Vegas Leglock.

Yep, one of my favorites. I grew up watching Gordon Solie and Georgia Championship Wrestling, then NWA with the Crocketts. Nothing like the days of Ole and Gene, Mr Wrestling I and II, Thunderbolt Patterson and Porkchop Cash, Dusty, Stan Hansen, Pak Song, Ivan and Nikita, the 4 Horsemen, Magnum TA, The Midnight Express and Jim Cornette, etc...

Pro wrestling is garbage now. Thanks Vince.

Cornette's a self serving douche, but the Express wouldn't have been the same without his presence.

Anybody old enough to remember Len Rossi and Bearcat Brown? They made Nick Gulas a fortune.

I barely remember them. I used to go to the Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga every Saturday night to watch wrestling by Gulas and Harry Thornton. There was some damn good talent that came through those doors. The Freebirds started there, Tommy Rich, Tojo Yammamoto, Bobby Eaton, Dutch Mantell, Lanny Poffo, Randy Savage, Gypsy Joe, etc...

The best match I ever saw in my life was a tag team match between Crazy Luke Graham and King Ripper Collins vs The Shiek and Abdullah the Butcher. The Shiek and Abdullah turned on each other, and fought like hell all through the auditorium, before it was en vogue.

Doug Furnas also wrestled there some.

The Sheik was one of my favorites. His nephew has certainly done his legacy proud.

Gulas, who promoted the TN, KY, northern AL territory for the NWA, lived in a pink house on Franklin Road in Nashville. Drove a pink Cadillac as well. LOL!

Wow, all of these rastlin' memories.
Well, I got one for you.
Refereeing all of these fine matches tonight-
JERRY CALHOUN!!!

Gulas was the most hated promoter around back in the day. If you do some research you will find that he short changed the majority of the talent thus having to put such notables as his son Nick and Butch Thorton in the ring! Nobody else would work for him. Harry Thorton carried him in the Chattanooga area.

On a side note I come in this morning to find that one of the all time greats has a son posting! Ron Wright will forever be my favorite hands down! Welcome!

Tag Teams... I like hat am torn between Arn/Tully and Stan/Bobby but I will add the Hollywood Blondes into to the argument had they been allowed to flourish.

Oh yeah Hire Gruden!
