I am sure this has come up in the past but I was just wondering about early enrollee and bowl practice. Can they practice? Do they get any reps? If so, wouldn't it be very important this year to make a bowl with that many EE that we have coming in to get some practice time? Also if they can practice it would be very important to get to a late bowl game so the EE could get more practice than with an early bowl.

Look guys I know its important to make a bowl every year. I am just saying it would have a bigger impact this yr due to the great amount of EE this yr. I was also thinking the Compass bowl that takes place in January would be better due to the longer practice time.

the extra practice is important to everyone. Teams get a set number of practices, doesn't really matter which day the game is on. I think its 15 practices.

Yes, and I'm not sure we could even go to the compass bowl. The SEC has signed agreements for bowls in place. Someone may correct me in this

If the SEC has 9 bowl eligible teams, the spot is ours. Same with the American Conference (Big East last year) but I'm not sure there number is 9, probably 6 or so. Alternatively it goes to an at large team from the C-USA or MAC.

According to the week #10 college bowl predictions, we are slated to play on January 4th, in Birmingham, Alabama against University of Houston.

Is that late enough in the bowl season for you? Also, we are only allowed a certain amount of bowl practices, regardless of when our game is.

I am a PosiVol all day but let's get our Ws and then worry about which bowl we are going to. I will be grateful for any bowl game after the last few seasons.

One thing to keep in mind is that if a EE enrolls in school ,then he can not participate in any of the All American Bowls,ie,US Army,Under Armor,Semper Fidelis,Offense /Defense,etc.Many of our EE's will be participating in one of those Bowl games and will not enroll prior to the Bowl game being played ;conversely if one does not enroll in school ,one can not participate in Tennessee Bowl practice.Just something to mull over.

Quote:
Newcomers Vincent Dallas and Brendan Downs did not practice on Monday as the Vols moved into the game plan mode of bowl preparations. When asked about them, Dooley simply said that they "went home."

The reason they are no longer practice is because the team is now in game prep and they will not see any reps, so they are spending the holidays with their families and will be back for the game.

Both practiced last week and fit in nicely. No real updates. Coaches were impressed with Dallas' agility - he will wear No. 4 when the season starts.

This was taken from this thread in 2010:

That was why I was wondering about the time frame pal! If the bowl game is too early they probably won't get to participate check your facts buddy!
