Rule change of Public remarks criticizing officials

Joe Schad of ESPN just reported on twitter that the SEC has changed its rule on public remarks criticizing officials. Saying that there will be an immediate fine, and suspension if done, no warning, just first time offense.

I think the SEC just changed its name to the Soviet Eastern Conference.

They need to enforce stricter penalties for ref's who consistently miss calls.

Slive is a major tool. How about hiring new refs??? It's no secret his guys are the worst in CFB. The coaches have every right to complain. We need a new leader of the SEC. Slive is bad for our image.

If Slive would realize there is a reason for an increase in complaints about officiating this year instead of just trying to sweep it under the rug, this would not be an issue.

Shouldn't they be more worried about getting the crews to get the calls right and not the coaches criticizing them...

He obviously has a giant ego. Our local sheriff in my hometown is like that. Power creates greed and false pride.

So basically if there is poor officiating, there is nothing that can be done about it? I sure hope Slive is happy... The NCAA and the SEC seem to be on a power high.

Wouldn't it be logical to fix the issue at hand rather than the backlash that is caused by the issue?

So I guess the referees can make any kind of stupid calls now, and won't have to worry about it......at least as long as Slive is around.

Inch by inch, step by step, we as a country are moving toward losing our freedom. They can't take huge chunks at a time because that riles up the masses, but little tiny bits here and there are easy but they add up quickly. I say if someone stinks, tell them or they will continue stink.

"There are proper channels available for head coaches to use when communicating officiating concerns to the Conference office," said SEC Commissioner Mike Slive in a statement.

So I guess there will be a whole lot of proper channels being used.
