Seriously, sorry about your luck. I ended up taking my 360 and trading it in on an elite to get by this problem. By the way, I ended up getting the RROD on 5 of my 360's, but none for the eilte(KNOCK ON WOOD)

I did because three of the five that I sent back were the exact same ones and I got the problem about a month later. Plus the turnover time to get your box back is a pain in the butt. I shell out an additional 150 bucks and I got an elite with no such problems.

The elite has the same internal hardware from dvd drive, heat sink, and cheap soldering as the pro version. They RRROD at the same rate.

yeah i got a good deal in my backup one..but am waiting on box to send in to get it fixed.

Mines getting ready to give up the ghost again, the CD drive is being loud and grindy-sounding.

Mine did the magic "sound, but no video" trick a few weeks ago. Luckily I haven't had time to play anyway, or I'd be SUPER pissed. Then again, I tried the x-clamp repair to no avail so far. I'm just going to buy an Arcade for now, and eventually keep working to get my Elite fixed back up.
