Maybe I missed the thread, but Kurt Roper and Matt Luke are headed to Duke with Coach Cutcliffe.

I think I like that.

I have no problem with Roper leaving. Luke wasn't horrible, though.

The bad thing, though, is that they are getting paid more now at Duke than they were here at UT. Cut isn't that far from making what Fulmer is making. All of a sudden, our staff isn't looking as overpaid as they were before.

We could see Jay Graham as a coach on the Hill next year. He's currently recruiting coordinator and WR coach at UT-Martin, and even more impressive, he spent a year coaching for Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh at San Diego.

and we havne't even addressed the defense, which is what most people thought SHOULD be changed to begin with, at least at some position coaches.

Could be 5, depending on Slade's future. Honestly, this might sound silly, but the offensive coaches leaving may have saved Slade's job.

i really hope adkins isn't the guy. i just have a bad feeling about him for some reason. i think he's an ok position coach, but i just can't see him as an offensive coordnator.

I hope Baylor does hire Stupor Taylor. Ir would be neat to watch a team go four years without winning a conference game.

Well, Trooper isn't guaranteed to be gone. This isn't the first job he's interviewed for so let's not call that a vacancy just yet. Our OC will likely also coach a position. Right now, TE, RB, and QB are all open. WR could be as well. It is possible that Adkins could also coach the TEs. We could possibly only hire 2 coaches. A RB coach and a QB/OC or vice versa. Then again, we may hire 5(OC/QB, RB, WR, TE, and DB).

Just as I expected. A long winded, drawn out response to make HV look like the messiah of knowledge. Thanks though, you reiterated what I said. :)

Gus Malzahn has as much business coaching at a big time program as the drive through worker at the Cumberland Avenue McDonald's.

The months following the Outback Bowl will be some of the most important in this program's history.

RB
WR
OC

and if Adkins is the new OC, then OL.
Why can't Adkins remain the O-line coach? Heck, for that matter, why isn't Phil the O-line coach? If Spurrier can be HBC/QB coach/OC, and Cutcliffe will probably be HBC and/or QB coach/OC, don't see any reason why either of these guys can't double up if needed.

Special teams?
