Roof rack mount for window flags.

My orange and white SUV has the vent shades over all the windows. I want to come up with a way to mount 2 flags on a roof rack. I am thinking 2 flags per crossbar. I have the roof rack rails rails but I need to purchase aftermarket cross bars. Does anyone know the best way to secure them to the roof rack and they look decent and hold tight? Thanks a bunch!

You might try a small boat flag pole. I have a small mount that I use to fly the Vol Navy flag. It has a clamp with screws that can be adjusted, and I bet it would work on the roof rack. Check the boat store. Of course, you'd have to somehow remove the flags from the plastic mounts they come with and attach them, but it could work with a little creativity.

That's a very good idea! I like the idea of having something rust proof and rigid. I thinking of mounting these on a cross bar dedicated just for the flags. When ever I want Tennessee Flags blowing in the wind I can mount them on the side rails and I am set.

Thanks for the suggestion! I am headed to FL on Saturday and I will check out some boating stores to see what I can find. When I get something made up and I will post some pics!

Not a bad little town. Been here 4 yrs. now. I am wanting to move back to Tennessee soon. Been gone too long. (20 years?
