Are we being trolled by many of these "journalists" and media outlets just for fun?

I just can't believe all of the names that have been put forth by various media outlets as serious candidates for this job or that UT is interested in them.

I know some of these guys (Hubbs, Hyams, Basilio et al) have to come up with names to get listeners or people to their sites/twitter etc...but this is crazy.

Now, part of it could be people feeding them names in a Les Miles/James Franklin type deal where coaches use it as leverage to get more $ from their current school, but again this is really unbelievable.

Maybe Hart does have a wide net and doesn't want to end up with Dooley 2.0, but I can't believe all these candidates are serious contenders.

Gruden
Gundy
Fisher
Strong
Golden
Franklin
Fedora
Briles
Mora Jr.
Peterson
Patterson
Davis
Jones
Beliema
Tressel

Most on that list isn't serious contenders. At this point the only serious contenders on that list IMO would be Strong, Fedora, Golden, Fisher, and Gundy.

No. But our fan base has been trolling itself

100% agree. We all need to take a deep breath and let the man (Hart) hire the best coach he can sans all the nutty twitter/facebook stuff and some guy who lives in his basement writing an opinion piece on why Jon Gruden will be our downfall. Let the man do his job and let's get this program rolling again because it can happen and it will happen....we all know about high expectations and what needs to be done...let's just sit back and not try to be knee deep in crazytown before we get back to the top. I think there are a ton of guys who could step in and do what others couldn't here (dooley and late era fulmer). Get away from bring back Phil/Chavis/Trooper Taylor---and start looking towards the future which I still say could be very bright!

Hubbs is either being lied to by his sources or the coaches we have actually contacted have been super quiet about the meetings so that no one locally believes they happened.

Not sure if "trolled" is the right word. I do think that the media is grasping at straws and certain paysites are just spitballing in an attempt to legitimize their existence.
