Somebody get Dr. Soza on the phone. By the way, J Wade's pick six is a nice video to have. How do I get one of those pictures or videos underneath my name?

I hear ya!!!

I know exactly what you mean. The thing I hated most was when college bands started playing that Black Sabbath tune in 1998, and most of the bands played it way too fast with way too many flutes. It sounded alot more intimidating when it was slowed down and played without those silly flutes.

Keep Rocky Top the way it is, I love it. What I get mad about is how not many people sing the words to "Down the Field." It would be a great thing for the Vols to hear all of Neyland singing that.

You can always sing an octave lower??? Or, just scream all the words and it won't matter what note you hit!

holy crap i agree nobody hardly knows the words to down the field but i sure know em and sing em everytime... rockytop just drowns that song and nobody knows about down the field because of rockytop. we should put the words to down the field on here so people wil know them.... i think they go

"here's to old tennessee, never we'll sever
we pledge our love and loyalty forever and ever,
backing our football team, faltering never,
cheer and fight with all of your might for TENNESSEE"

we should get fight vols fight and alma mater our there too!

If you'll go to our homepage and scroll down, there's a link to "Songs" on the left.

I don't care what key we sing Rocky Top in . . . but I'm sticking to my stance that anybody that says woooooo in the middle of it should be beaten severely. :shakehead:

Easy with the severe beatings...it was the only part of the song my girlfriend knew when she first went to a game. That actually surprised me, as she is a Kentucky graduate, and has therefore heard it about a million times :biggrin2:

i think the woooo is awesome and make up atleast 50 percent of the fun of singing rockytop haha

It wasn't there when I started school but was there when I left. Where did it come from? Just not a big fan of it.

I learned to sing the Alma Mater by using the Giligan's Island theme:

Try it.

On a hallowed hill in Tennessee
Like a beacon shining bright
The stately walls of old UT
Rise glorious to the site

So here's to you old Tenneessee
Out alma mater true
We pledge to love and harmony
Out loyalty to you

It's a song about moonshine stills, corn in a jar, and a woman, "wild as a mink but sweet as soda pop"......I don't see how a "woooo" hurts it.

LOL
