The UT fans we're hosting this weekend at our tailgate absolutely HATE the part of Rocky Top when everyone WOOS!! near the end. They think it's less than manly.

It reminds me of Ric Flair.

Discuss.

Wow, tells you how we feel about our season for this subject to come up after only 2 games.

For the record, I hate the Woo.

I propose a bipartisan compromise. "Woo" for touchdown playings of Rocky Top with a lead only, all other times Rocky Top is played leave out the "woo."

Don't ask someone to not "woo," don't tell anyone to "woo."

The woo sucks.

Though it could be worse, I suppose. Imagine if we would have hired Mike Leach, and they changed the "woo" to "arrrrrrggghhh"

I don't know who inserted the woo in the 90's, but he should be kicked in the jimmy.

Okay how about this....Tennessee is playing at South Carolina and during pre-game you see Ric Flair just before 2001 starts playing.

Do you woo or not woo?

Whether you Woo or not we "as fans" need to understand that we do not need to be singing Rocky Top at our loudest every time our offense makes a 1st down. Remember we have a shaky QB and a little silence may help. No telling how many times last week I caught myself wishing the Band would shut up. Do not get me wrong I love Rocky Top. JMO

The woo should probably be omitted. However, it's impossible not to throw it in there in the heat of the moment. It's like SponegeBob and Patrick trying not to sing along with Goofy Goober. It just can't be done.

I don't woo. Most guys don't.

But it can't be stopped. Might as well learn to love it. Southern women are genetically predispositioned to woo.

My wife and my 4 year old like the Woo. I have heard it included so much that it is almost expected as part of the song. If you have a stadium full of hard nosed UT football fans then there is probably no Woo. However, throw in the casual observer, kids, and mother's trying to keep the kids occupied during the games and I think the Woo stays for the duration.

I don't hate it. Really never thought about it. It just is. Would kinda sound bare without it though, don't you think?

The ladies can woo, the men cannot. Its funny, because no one admits to liking it, yet everyone does it. But it just wouldn't be the same to me without it.
