"Rocky Top" Listed #4 College Fight Song At S.I.

This is insane. "Rocky Top" is by far the greatest fight song ever. I don't think any other school as a fight song quite as infamous. Infamous as in it is severely hated by other teams, yet dearly loved by UT fans.

i actually liked reading the comments posted below the list...it seems that with all the disdain for Rocky Top, that in and of itself would merit it's inclusion on the list.

I guess Rocky Top works huh? If everone hates it that much, then it has to work. I love it.

"Hail to the Victors" is easily the best fight song of all time. Notre Dame's Victory March is a distant second.

i would agree with that....i don't know about the Navy song, or Boomer Sooner....

but everyone knows Hail to the Victors, michigan fan or not.

but i still can't but love the fact that Rocky Top has to be, maybe not the best, but definitely most hated fight song around....

Everyone on this board knows how I feel about OU. However, "Boomer Sooner" is just another fight song. If OU had OK State's all-time record, it wouldn't get the first mention.

Now there are cheers that i can't stand....i hate the gator chomp and the incessant rumbling of "roll tide" over and over again from Bama fans.

other than, that, i would still say teams that regularly play TN hate Rocky Top more than any other.

Didn't the Minnesota band play Rocky Top after beating an SEC team in a bowl game two years back? The fact that another school would do that really says something about your fight song.

oh, i forgot about that....i hate that one.

but more than that, i hate the stupid long horn hand signal. i went to the cotton bowl in 90, and a bunch of TX fans had bought tickets thinking TX would be there, and obviously they weren't. so the ones that did go to the game instead of selling them to TN or ARK fans were walking around throwing up the signal saying "hook 'em HOGS!"....really annoying.

i also can't stand the little wolfpack hand signal NCSU fans do....that is one of the gayest things i've ever seen.
