They mentioned after the game he could possibly move up to a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Apparently before the game he was projected as a 5th or 6th rounder.

Robert Ayers is the perfect example.......talent not being developed at UT during the Fulmer Era, not being coached and/or motivated. Gets to the Senior Bowl, has NFL coaches around and he plays at a higher level.
I feel sorry for Ayers and other players that had to put up with the horriable coaching that went on in Knoxville during the 2000's under Fulmer.

Fulmer did have issues developing players at certain positions, but Brooks and Caldwell are both very good coaches who developed talent well. Just look at the guys they've sent to the NFL.

Did AF hold on to the ball or did he fumble while sitting on the bench?

Back to Ayers, I was reading somewhere that he was being considered as a great fit to be a DE in a 3-4 system. Considering that and Belichick's comments about him, Ayers might just get to reunite with Jerod Mayo next year.

In 3-4s, DE generally have to be able to either play LB or shift inside to DT. I've heard there's a question if he can play OLB, and is just too small right now to be a DT.

I also feel sorry for anyone who had to play under Fulmer, Fulmer could never really develop talent. Fulmer relied on superior talent to win games, because he didn't know how to coach. The sad thing is that he couldn't even recruit well in the end, he really couldn't do anything right. It's sad that he couldn't win an SEC title the last decade. A monkey should be able to win at least one title with the facilities, money, tradition, and support that UT has. Im just really glad hes gone!
