Robert Ayers was voted the defensive MVP in the Senior Bowl yesterday. He had 3 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, and 1.5 sacks. It seems like his stock is rising. I wish he would have been able to put it all together as a Vol before his senior season.

Man, I get kind of worried that we might not realize what a loss he is to our team. And then I remember we have Chris Walker, Wes Brown, and Ben Martin, and I feel better.

Way to go Ayers!

Not quite as shocking to see a defensive player win the MVP.

Had an offensive guy won... well end of debate about Clawson.

Robert Ayers is the perfect example.......talent not being developed at UT during the Fulmer Era, not being coached and/or motivated. Gets to the Senior Bowl, has NFL coaches around and he plays at a higher level.
I feel sorry for Ayers and other players that had to put up with the horriable coaching that went on in Knoxville during the 2000's under Fulmer.

And this year, you will see players who rode the pine Excel. FACT.

I don't know, but you gotta figure his stock shot up a good deal with that game.

Perhaps but from what I hear most of the top O-linemen were very disappointing to many of the scouts from the NFL. Hard to imagine they didn't notice him while evaluating the O-line. Hard to tell, they may have been very impressed by him or figured the O-linemen were a let down. Either way it could only help his stock with a few teams.
