A little early I know, however, an old Marine buddy and I are heading to the VOLS/ Ole Miss game in November.. We have tried to get together over the years and it always seems to take a TN game to make it happen...
Any help as to what spots to hit while there would be appreciated, and to whomever will be down there for tailgating the more the merrier.

My family sells Beef and Pork to some restaurants in Nashville, so Im trying to scam a bunch stuff from my old man for a BBQ before the game. I imagine its going to cost me a lot of manual labor around his farm, so hopefully there is a place to set up.

It will be my first trip to Oxford. Ill be flying from Charleston to Memphis on Friday morning, then heading down to oxford from there Friday evening. My wife and I are going with a couple who graduated from OM, so Im counting on them to show us around the grove, etc.

I hope this game is the 3:30 game or the 7:45 game. the 12:20 or 12:00 game time would be tragic as it would take away from the "grove" experience.

it would take away from the grove experience, but, in our 2 games this season at 12:20 we've won by a combined 108-26. so that wouldnt be bad at all even though its early

We will be heading to Oxford Friday afternoon/night. Trying to decide if i need to drive the truck with all the comforts or just bring the car. I have some Ole Miss alumni friends but they dont seem to be able to offer up good info as to if we will be able to set up shop or not.

Well the more the merrier, if its a late game, I will be the drunk Vols fan trying not to burn a bunch of meat!

I went to Oxford in '04. The Grove was where 99% of the people were. Other than that, there wasn't much else going on that we could see. I would recommend finding a nice spot to sit and take in the "scenery".

My sister is getting her PHD/teaching at Ole Miss so I'll be going. I was just going to buy a ticket online but it was just waaay too much. So she's getting a friend of hers to get a student ticket for me and we'll have to be in the student section and you better believe I'll be wearing my orange. I hope it's a night game so we can tailgate in The Grove all day long

My son and I are heading down. We are going to stop and visit Shiloh on Thursday and head on down Friday. Where is everyone staying? I have sat around too long and am having a hard time finding a hotel in Oxford. I was thinking about Tupelo?

My advice to anyone heading to Mississippi is to look for a pretty girl and tell her your daddy owns so and so dealership (or you do if the temples are graying) and suck in the southern hospitality. Owning a car dealership in MS these days is just like owning a plantation 50 years ago.
