How do they do their rankings. We have 9 more committs than Ala, same amout of 5* and 1 more 4* and still can't catch them. Do they use some weird formula?

Been asking that for weeks. More players. More highly ranked players. Yet behind. Makes zero sense. Somebody mentioned decimal points but the rivals guys aren't good enough to separate players by tenths of points. Its arrogant at best.

Personally, I think Rivals is based in Tuscaloosa or Birmingham. So, they will likely always favor Alabama over Tennessee. Whenever we get back to beating Alabama at least every other year if not, three or four years in a row, Rivals will see us favorably! Honestly, I don't know where they are based, but, I would bet that it is in a football prospect-rich area like Atlanta or Orlando!

I had heard that either a Bammer runs Rivals or something along those lines..

Exactly..atleast on Scout and 247 we go ahead, they go ahead but Rivals it seems we can't make any points up. If they do the top 20 player thing that is dumb as hell or the Bsmmers running it run out of fingers, thumbs and toes and stop at 20. Although all the imbreeding in Tuscalooser trailer parks some have more than 20 and others less. Guess the law of average still comes out 20.

Even doing that we have one 5*, sixteen 4* and three 3*. Ala has one 5*,fifteen 4* and four 3*. Still makes no sense.
Could be wrong, but I think JUCOs don't get the same bonus points that high schoolers do. How many of our top 20 are JUCO compared to theirs?

Here is a link to all of their points that they aware for football recruits.

Rivals

As said previously, they only take the top 20 point producing recruits from each team.

Im not sure about that, I hate Rivals formula. I like 247 and Scouts much better, although we are #2 in all 3.

I see and you get points for top 250 and if they are a 5.9 or 6.1...so we need more top 250 like Malone, the guy from LA who is committed to Ariz St, Sharp, Jackson and still need a few Juco DT's.

Look at the rankings of each player UT has and Alabama has....They have higher ranked recruits than us is why they are ahead.

Their formula includes bonus points for posistion rankings and being a top 100, 200, 250 player. That might be the difference. Also remember just because we add someone doesn't me we move up because we are at 31. They only take the top 20 in to account for rankings so unless the new commit replaces one of the previous top 20 there won't be a change.

You obviously didn't read the FAQ for yourself, so I'm done trying to help you understand how their rankings work.

According to rivals I doubt we catch Alabama. In fact, I think we will get passed by 2 others. Still think we end top 5

(Rivals Rating = Points)

6.1 = 150 points
6.0 = 135 points
5.9 = 120 points
5.8 = 105 points
5.7 = 90 points
5.6 = 75 points
5.5 = 60 points
5.4 = 45 points
5.3 = 30 points
5.2 = 15 points

Among the 4*, Alabama has mostly 6.0, Tennessee has mostly 5.8. That's the difference. Still a marvelous class.

They only rank the top 20 recruits of each school. Number of commits doesn't matter. Just the highest ranked 20 from each team. Recruits are given bonus points for their rating as well. Top 100, etc.
