2006 Rank Pos Ht/Wt Schools
1 Chris Donald Huntingdon (TN) Huntingdon LB 6-2/220 list
Donald quite possibly could be the Southeast’s top linebacker prospect before all is said and done and is without a doubt Tennessee’s top prospect. He has special closing speed and football instincts, good size and plays with an unparalleled passion for the game. Donald racked up 110 tackles (30 for loss), 13 sacks and five forced fumbles on defense while rushing for more than 1,600 yards and 17 touchdowns on offense on a team that reached the state semifinals. Donald was name the West Tennessee Player of the Year by the Jackson Sun and was a consensus first-team All-State selection. Despite playing in a small classification in a small West Tennessee town, Donald is well-known He has been at the top of numerous program’s recruiting boards throughout the Southeast and as word, and his tape, has traveled, his stock has continued to go higher.

Great hands and quickness.
8 Anthony Anderson Knoxville (TN) Austin-East High School ATH 6-0/175 Tennessee
Could help the Vols in multiple areas.
9 John Stokes Memphis (TN) University School LB 6-5/225 list
Projects more as a defensive end than a linebacker.
10 Todd Campbell Franklin (TN) WR 6-0/183 Tennessee
Hands and confidence make Campbell a take.
11 Dennis Rogan Knoxville (TN) Fulton RB 5-10/167 list
Explosive runner should find a home in the slot.
12 Kevin Cooper Chattanooga (TN) Baylor RB 6-1/240 Tennessee
Should make noise from the fullback spot at UT.
13 Dasmine Cathey Memphis (TN) Ridgeway DE 6-3/194 list
Speedy pass rusher comes off the edge quick
14 Aaron Crawford Memphis (TN) Ridgeway RB 5-11/200 list

15 Tyler Maples Maryville (TN) Maryville WR 6-2/180 Tennessee
Good all-around receiver has excellent speed.

Nice list, thanks VH. If the Vols knock off a couple of those top ones it will be nice.

Out of that top 20, I say we land:

1. Chris Donald
4. Harrison Smith
5. Chris Walker
8. Anthony Anderson
10. Todd Campbell
12. Kevin Cooper
15. Tyler Maples
17. BJ Coleman

Here are the ones we don't land:
2. Golden Tate-little interest from either side
3. Rae Sykes-big LSU lean, but will go to JUCO
6. Alex Watkins-Bama commit that we regret not jumping on
7. Roderick Davis-may end up a Vol if we pursue, IDK if we will, grade issues as well
9. John Stokes-little interest from UT
11. Dennis Rogan-horrible grades prevent interest from UT
13. Dasmine Cathey-a little to small for UT's system
14. Aaron Crawford-underrated but bigger names at RB on our board
16. Josh Hawkins-see above, we may end up with one if we don't land one of our top tier RB recruits
18. Mark Fisher-not much interest from UT, bigger names on the board
19. Wade Bonner-pretty full at DB at this point(other than Berry and Smith)
20. Darius Davis-see above

Landing 8 of the top 20 in state isn't bad, especially on a year when we have limited schollys.

The good news is that it is because of a lack of interest on Tennessee's part in most cases not the kids.

That is pretty respectable, especially getting half of the top 10.
