Could some one educate me on what rivals rating is.

5.8, 5.7, etc.

I'm not one to get caught up in stars and what not just wandered.k:

The rating just correlates to the star system.

6.1 is a 5 star
5.8-6.0 is a 4 star
5.5-5.7 is a 3 star
5.2-5.4 is a 2 star
4.9-5.1 is a 1 star

I thought they gave ratings based off Saban's interest in a recruit

Before 247 came on the scene, Rivals used to say anyone receiving a D1 offer was a minimum of a 2 star there was no such thing as a 1 star D1 prospect, they didn't rank ( I don't frigging care what they call it now FCS BS) D1 AA and lower.
