Good review, hope he lives up to his billing.

On the Hoof: Perhaps the tallest committed D-I quarterback prospect in the country but very lean at this time. The closest physical comparison would be N.C. State quarterback Mike Glennon.

Needs Improvement: Will need to add some muscle mass and strength while improving his overall foot speed.

Most Impressive: Bray is a very accurate quarterback that has excellent touch and can throw any type pass asked of him. He is also an intelligent player that will make the right reads and not throw into double coverage.

Conclusion: This quarterback may have the most long-term potential of any quarterback in the country. Bray is a tough competitor that sees the whole field and already has enough arm strength to make the tough throws.

i like what i hear about him, but then again it might be that we are so excited to just see crompton leave and anyone with talent step in, a football variation of the "Tech 10" theory

Looks like LK has read the history of Tennessee football and looked at the need for it to rise again....I really believe we are headed in that direction and it won't be as long as some think....Get ready out there in the SEC and the others we play....Tennessee is for real again.

He can't get here fast enough! I think we should start him right off the bat...it can only help long-term

Got a question on this. Can our S&C coach suggest things Bray can do to get stronger and faster? Is this something he can do without being pnalized by the NCAA? If so, that would be a good way to get a head start on his physical issues.

i'm loving the fact that he's enrolling a semester early. spring practice and the Vols strength & conditioning should fill him out nicely. it bodes well for him getting a shot at starting next fall. i know there are several threads about that topic in particular, so i don't want to go down that road...

I thought the same thing but if Bryce Brown can't go on a little trip with his buds then I doubt a UT staff can give him advice until he is signed IMO

Can't see why not as long as they are in a period where contact is allowed. If AA can't do it directly then he can just give the list to CLK and let him do it.

What?

Nothing in there about throwing into triple coverage? What will our world look like? :dance2:

As skinny as he is, his arm strength could improve dramatically with added weight in a year or two. Most QB's coming out of high school have minimal to moderate increases in arm strength once in college. Bray does have a huge upside no doubt.

I just glad that he'll be here for spring practice. If we are expecting to use him in the fall, he'll need that time to bulk up and learn the system.
I'm not expecting too much next year, but I can't wait to see who all we have on the team when Bray is a sophomore, and this freshman class is a bunch of juniors.

What makes him even better is that he is enrolling early and will be here through it all and will have the maximum time allowed to get familiar with the system...That is a great thing!

This may be the biggest thing.

I would think his parents, present coach ect. are aware he needs to increase weight and strength. I am sure the Tennessee coaches mentioned this.

He throws forward passes too. I was in shock when I watched the Georgia-Arkansas game on Saturday because I had forgotten what deep passes looked like.

right on Panthro, and not only Bray, but a bunch of other stud sophomores from the 2010 class, plus more elite freshman our staff brings in. get used to it, theres a new boss in town!

Maybe VolNation could help the cause and send him a big box of GNC WeightGainer. :)

Tyler Bray, after two games, is averaging 288 yards passing and 305 total yards a game. Kingsburg High is 2-0.

Good idea but ESPN would do another story about secondary violations and we would have to ask UM for forgiveness.

You can go online to get a good workout for any sport. Lots of good stuff on the internet. I don't think he really needs our S&C coach to help him develop. I really believe the S&C coaches are there mainly to motivate.
