My buddy of 14 years has died today. I had to make the decision to put him down.
He's been my best friend

The day I bought him he was the only puppy that came straight up to me and pulled on my laces.

We have done everything together. I know as a man I'm not supposed to cry but it hurts so bad.

I will always love you Duke

Sorry for your loss. Having a companion for that long is a very hard pill to swallow, once they leave us for their happy hunting ground.

Thank you. That's only thing that helps me knowing he's going to his hunting ground. And he's no longer in pain

Sorry for your loss. I've got a 17 yr old lab. I think that time is approaching.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had to put my 14 year old mini schnauzer to sleep not too long ago. I still miss her.

Sorry for your loss, man.

I have a boxer who is about 7 and a half and a Lab who is almost 5.

I do not like to think about losing them someday.

"Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe, we are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made."

Truly sorry for your loss. I dread the day.....

A few years back I lost a cat I had for over 20 years, to put it in perspective I'm only 25. He helped me through a lot of depressing times. He would wake me up every morning giving me a bath and would start to purr as soon as I touched him.

I feel your pain, OP.

Tough to deal with the loss of a pet. I still get sad thinking about my childhood retrievers.

We had one that died at twenty as well. At least we were blessed to have them for so long.
