Grew up listening him call games on CBS. Great coach and even better on TV.
85 years on this planet is pretty good

You could argue that he was the single greatest reason the NFL’s popularity took off. Truly one of the greats.

I was reading about Coach Madden a week or so ago, he got his masters in education and got into coaching (after getting injured in preseason camp as a rookie, never played in an NFL game) as an extension of teaching. RIP, he was one of a kind and much loved by his players and fans.

I didn’t see it when it aired or even know that it was on but before the Packers game on Christmas Fox aired a 90 min documentary about Madden with 30 ex - NFL players , coaches, etc…

I imagine Fox will re-air now and will definitely have to check it out

Absolute legend and was the coach of the RAIDAHS when I became a fan! Words cant express my sadness about his passing. Thw 70's Raiders were so awesome to watch!
