Dang can 2016 just get over with..

over the Christmas period

George Michael has "passed away peacefully at home", it was announced tonight.

His publicist broke the news in a statement issued at 11pm tonight.

The statement said: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.

"The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time.

"There will be no further comment at this stage."

He has sold more than 80 million records worldwide in a career spanning four decades.

He began as one half of pop duo Wham! - but became famous in his own right with his debut solo single Careless Whisper.

His 1987 debut solo album Faith sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

He achieved seven number one singles in the UK and eight number one hits in the US.

I despised Wham's music and videos and therefore was not happy that I liked Faith as much as I did, but that was a great pop record with great production, and of course sounded nothing like Wham. I want your Sex was a great video also. Listen without Prejudice was a decent follow up.

RIP.

Same here. He made a great decision on going solo

Some people work for a living
Some people work for fun, girl, I just work for you
They told me marriage was a give and take
Well, show me you can take you've got some giving to do
And now you tell me that you're having my baby
I'll tell you that I'm happy if you want me to

LOL

Wouldn't surprise me if it was lung cancer. I read once that he smoked weed all day long..... not a doob in the morning .... a doob at noon.... I'm talking like joints as cigarettes and a pack a day.

Incredibly talented guy, but not my style of music.

At first I thought probably AIDS. He had those arrests in public restrooms. He had a partner diagnosed with HIV 6 months into their relationship that ultimately died. I thought that "he died peacefully at home" sounded like a long illness... but now they're saying he died in his sleep possibly due to a heart issue.

Dude could sing. Good choice to fill in the vocals for Freddie when Queen reunited. Hard to believe the same guy that was in that Wham video pulled that off. Good choice by Sir Elton too.

This quote alludes to him having serious health issues and this happening is no surprise.

Going out on a limb but maybe it was aids.

I have no idea and it is a shot in the dark but that is really young even for lung cancer.
