I kept wondering why in the world Fulmer extended Pruitt. It seemed to me to be way too early, after just a couple wins against some of the least strong competition on the schedule, to declare him a highly-prized coach worth doling out a contract extension to. Did Phil think other programs with deep pockets were clamoring for Pruitt's services after those wins against South Carolina and Missouri????

Pruitt getting us elite is a 4-5 year commitment upfront. It hurts. Last year was hopefully the worst days of it. Defense played tight. They are tackling the best in 22 years. We have had two good recruiting cycles. We need two more to have the depth. Now, if Pruitt whiffs on a recruiting class, then he and UT is in big time trouble.
I keep saying QB and bruising RB is the only big holes on the team, though I would upgrade at punter too. We have had the two worst years punting I remember.

Fair enough. I’m still raw from this beat down we just took. Let me try again. We consistently out recruit Kentucky so our talent level should have been more than sufficient to beat a limited Kentucky team at our own house. If we’re talking about competing with Bama and Georgia, I agree that we need more successful recruiting cycles.
