Well i just got the Ring Of Death. My wife was trying to play Tiger she came to the room to get me and said what does the three red lights mean. I said baby thats not funny but she wasnt joking i took the game let the system set for 5 minutes and reinserted a game and it worked so is it going down or whats going on. Should i try and take it back to Wal Mart or send it in to Microsoft i need help?

mine does the ring-o-death, when the power almost goes out but doesnt completely if you know what I'm talking about, where the lights just dim, but when I restart it, its always fine. So maybe you arent screwed.

If it was bought less than a year ago, then it is qualified for an in store exchange for a brand new unit under Microsofts first extended warranty to 1 year.

There isnt anything to know... They have to give you a new unit, they have no choice... Dont take no for an answer.

Did I miss something? MS is a three year warranty done by mail.

Walmart has at least a 15 day return policy on anything in the store, probably 30 or more. Just not how long the electronics return policy is.

Yes, you missed something...

Microsoft's FIRST extended warranty, which came in February I think, extended their FACTORY warranty to 1 year, allowing for in store replacement on the spot if you were within a year of purchase.

The new warranty is basicallly a "service" warranty, saying theyll fix it for free for 3 years, but still includes the 1 year in store replacement policy.

Have you seen something online or do you have a link that shows that? I have never heard anyone else suggest that you can return it to the store for anything other than the store's normal return period. As a matter of fact, I've seen stores like CompUSA refuse to take returns on any opened consoles at all. They make you deal with Microsoft/Sony from day 1.

I believe you are right freaky. Also, I believe that you can get a replacement from Microsoft from 3 years from original purchase date if you have the original receipt.

I don't think you even are required to have the receipt. I know someone that just got theirs replace without any receipt at all.
