So heard that Rico tried to challenge Lane during workouts. Is this true? I didn't even think players were allowed to work out with coaches yet. Am I wrong on that? Any info would be great.

Now that things have calmed down on the coaching search front, these threads seem to be stretching more and more everyday.

It was posted in another thread that Rico ran off at the mouth and was thrown out of practice. He later came back and apoligized and was allowed to continue the rest of practice.

I actually heard that Josh Briscoe came by workouts to teach the art of falling backwards and quitting when you need another foot...

Went well from what I hear.

I'll give more updates once I hear more.

Coaches are allowed to supervise training workouts aren't they??? If not, my coaches in college are in deep sh*t b/c they supervised all of our January weight lifting and conditioning!

There is discretionary time and countable time. During the off-season a coach has 8 hours countable time to work with players on skilled instruction, conditioning, film review. If a Coach supervises or directs the conditioning then it countable time and can be discussed with the player...a Coach can be a safety monitor when a player does conditioning during the player's discretionary time but this conditioning/time can not be discussed with the player or with the Coaching staff. Coaches/players are required to record their weekly countable time.

I am of the opinion that most conditioning should be done by the players using their discretionary time. See no reason a HC couldn't use some of his countable time to do this but if I were a HC implementing a new system(s) it would be limited but I'm not a HC so I'll leave it to CLK and staff.

If this is true about Rico challenging Kiffin, he might wanna think twice unless he wants to be playing football for Carson Newman this fall. From everything I have read about Kiffin so far, he will tell Rico to hit the road and not lose any sleep over it either.
