Well it looks like Rico will survive the cuts for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will serve as the backup at Weakside LB with the placement of another player, Jon Alston, on the IR. Rico will likely start the season as the backup to Geno Hayes.

Happy to see Rico most likely crack the league. One of my favorite Vols of all time.

Awesome for Rico! Maybe the 2010 version of Arian Foster!

Does anyone know where Dennis Rogan ended up?

Unfortunately, I would guess somewhere off Broadway. Maybe he will try CFL or some other league but he just wasn't ready for the NFL... unfortunately, his study habits didn't give him the chance. :frown:

Sounds like Rico may actually be cut from the Bucs today. Hard to say right now. He may, however, make the practice squad. Former Vol Steve White is predicting that Lee Robinson will likely get the last roster spot if the Bucs even decide to keep 7 LBs, which may be one more than they even keep.

I had to choose between Rico McCoy, a guy who played at my alma mater of Tennessee, and Lee Robinson for that final linebacker slot. I ended up going with Robinson because it appears to me that the coaches are more comfortable with him in the lineup. I've noticed that he tends to get into the game before McCoy and he has made some pretty nice plays in the preseason. Hopefully Rico can stick around on the practice squad at least though.
