"...a job at New Mexico State last offseason to serve as the Aggies' recruiting coordinator and work with their infielders."

Looks like he's filling out his resume, getting his ticket punched on route to a coaching career.

Now that Tony has established this program, is he following Heupel's strategy to develop and promote coaches from within, in order to maintain continuity? Or does that work in baseball?

If not, I guess the next best thing is to make Tennessee a coaching destination, or a prime resume credential for top coaching talent.

I am now convinced that these moves with assistants are why we haven't heard about Tony's contract yet. It's been said quite a bunch that he'll have the largest salary pool of any coach in the country, and I definitely believe it. I love how much we're investing in baseball!

Will Serrano be back?

Not an original idea...you, apparently, saw the reference to Delmonico(not steak) and decided to use another's creativity. They may be trying to entice Casey Stengel to don Orange.....
Or maybe referring to Parker Serrano (not Dave), which is a legit question. Will he be back as a student assistant or in some other capacity this year?

I agree. And it makes sense from every perspective IMO. Collegiate baseball is booming and the season length and amount of games played (especially if the program is strong enough for a long post run) keeps the “brand” in the public eye for a long time. It’s unbelievable how many Vols fans have admitted this was the first year they’d paid a lot of attention to our baseball program. Hope TV and company can keep the proverbial ball rolling! TV seems to be a guy that’s comfortable denigrating himself and pokes fun at himself but in reality is an excellent communicator, facilitator, and strategist. Hope we ride with him for a HOF career.

It wasn't too long ago that many would say this could never happen at UT.
