I completely understand. I’m been selling mine for a reasonable price to cover my gas to Knoxville.I wound up selling mine for the year to a fellow poster on here; 4 hr drive one way and $4.25 gas doesn’t lend me to make it like I did last year and hoped to this year. Ticket prices doubled this year so no way I was just giving them away.
I thought about it this year, I did. What I came up with is….am I really going to go to every game in Feb. and March? Am I gonna spend every weekend from now until Hoover going to every game? If the answer to that question is no, how much time do I want to spend filling my seats with Orange blooded fans? Just so I can get dibs on regional tickets? So, I passed.
I don’t think it’s a wealthy versus average Joe debate. It’s a debate about time and responsibility.
I’ll see y’all in Hoover.
Sat next to a family the last 2 days from Nashville who bought season tickets.
These were their first games of the season
Perhaps work with local friends and family and share the tickets in advance
I’m beginning to regret seeing nearly 100% of the grandstand seats being reserved season tickets
It seems the MVP seat situation is getting worse. Maybe there’s more of those in corporate hand as the prior holders have been priced out?
With the late winter/early spring weather and the number of games played; baseball season tickets likely need to be handled differently so the place doesn’t look empty while the GA stand are packed.
Even the porches look emptier this season than times past and we know they sold out in hours.
They’ve replaced the diehards- and I mean some real long suffering fans; with more semi-interested corporate and wealthy donors that already make the west side football and basketball suites so dull.
I wish there was a solution? For whatever reason, they don’t care if the seats are used or not when they deem it warm enough to show
OTOH…one can’t say it sure would be nice if the University invested in baseball, while also saying they shouldn’t prioritize selling every seat.
One can’t say, there’s not much growth in the other sports as it pertains to seats and funds while saying once baseball becomes televised it could grow exponentially.
And let’s not act like LSU, VU,Ole Miss, etc…midweek games are well attended either, and watch any of them on any given weekend there are empty seats.
We said all those things and more for years around here. There’s no crying in baseball.
GO BasketVols!
GBO!!!
It’s the nature of baseball. Except for us fanatics, most fans are watching, or going to every inning of a three game set.
IIRC, 90 minutes before the SEC games they sell standing room only tickets.I agree with Frye on this one. On a day like today, you should be able to walk up to the ticket booth and get a general admission or standing room only ticket, rather than every seat being sold and the school relying on the secondary market to put actual butts in the seats. I do understand why it is this way.
I agree with the sentiment. Reality is, if we want nice things, money talks.I agree with Frye on this one.
