Watch him at 10:00 tonight and tell me he is not better than everyone on our lists, with the exception of Gruden.

Yeah, I totally want somebody who has failed in college and been fired recently. And if he turns us down, we can still go after Butch Davis or Tommy Tuberville. Nothing says "bright future" like hiring someone who another school actually paid to go away.

Bill Martin hired Rich when everyone wanted Harbuagh. They forced Martin out and brought in Branden who was a UM grad. All of the talking heads who wanted harbuagh did nothing but try to get rid of him by feeding papers like the Detroit free press a bunch of crap to make him look horrible. He brought in his system and players and when it was time to enjoy the rewards, they got rid of him and hired hoke. Hole got to enjoy OSU as a non factor and didn't have to play wisconsin. He goes 11-2 and everyone acts like Michigan was back. Now that OSU is back, we will see them win 8 games.

Let me get this straight.

Jon Gruden got fired by Tampa and we overlook.

Charle Strong has won 23 of his first 37 games, even though in those 37 games, he has faced only 1 ranked opponent.

Dan Mullen in four seasons has only beaten 2 ranked opponents.

Rich Rod had beaten two ranked opponents in three seasons at UM and two more wins against ranked opponents this season at Arizona. That's not evening bring up what he did at WVU.

Even in the face of those facts, people wanna laugh at him and embrace the others. Really??????

Yeah, Gruden got fired in Tampa like Pete Carroll got fired in New England and Jim Mora Jr got fired in Atlanta. Pros are very different from college. For instance, guys like Tom Coughlin and Tony Dungy get fired at one team, resurface elsewhere and win it all. But in college, there hasn't been anyone this century (and hardly any in the last 40 years) who has been fired from one major conference school and resurfaced at another one and won championships (conference or otherwise). So, yeah, it kind of matters whether you were fired from a college job or a pro job.

And yeah, if given a choice of a guy who has been fired from a major program or a guy who has been at a smaller program and has regularly beaten unranked teams, I'll take the guy who didn't get fired, every time. Statistics and history make that the much safer bet.

Also, it's not just we who overlook Gruden getting fired from Tampa. It's most of the nation. He's still considered a great coach by most and probably 95% of fanbases would rather have him than the coach they have now.

Yeah I mean his style of offense only won 2 national titles for florida :ermm: His offense would be fantastic at UT and it WORKS look at how they are shredding that ASU defense right now...They have done that all season...I would be thrilled if they were able to steal him from Arizona.
