I've been a Vol fan since I was 10 years old. So over 50 years. It ran in my family. We came out of Knox, Anderson, and Union counties. Tracing back to the Civil War.

For some reason, over the past couple of years...more so this year...and especially after the Vandy game, it just doesn't seem to mean as much to me as it used to.

The younger generations in my clan don't view UT Football the way we did. They have good reason.

That sucks. I remember when being a "Rabid Vol Fan" meant something.

Progress, I guess...

Go Vols.
Same here. This generation is the money generation. It reflects our society

I hope Staley absolutely smokes him next year. I hope we design plays to keep him from getting safety help and he gets absolutely cooked. Not sure why but I actually dislike Gibson more than Nico.
Gibson used a season ending injury for McCoy to twist the knife. What Nico did was bad as well, but using an injury as leverage is pretty scummy. And after all that, he misses just about the whole season with an injury. He can kick rocks.

Just because you don’t realize his potential doesn’t mean I can’t.
He had 3 years to prove it here.
But good luck to him at Texas AM.

He was replaced last year and were just getting better that spot.

Outside of Jakobe has there really been anyone else who has succeeded to a high degree who left this program in the portal era? Seems like the portal has given us much more than taken.

Just the one dude that went to Bama. He's on the Texans now.

That’s the nature of the beast. With the prices of fuel since coming out of Covid, they should be able to afford a semipro team!
I thought Jed Clampett struck oil in East Tenn ? Jethro is still alive last I heard. Did he blow the money on becoming a double naught spy or give it to Deshaun Watson in Cleveland ?

When Gibson played opposite of McCoy in the "24 season, it was clear that Gibson was the weaker corner. Not good at times. He was hurt most of the '25 season so don't know if he improved. I think we can do better but need to get busy in the portal.
It stinks that Gibson wasn’t honest about his worth, but at least we tricked A&M into wasting some money! 😂

They should put it in their NIL contracts if a player is injured and then transfers to another school, that the medical expenses for the injury are deducted and paid to the previous school!

Just the nature of today’s game…but in his case there could be some additional factors. He missed the season with injury so he probably felt a little isolated from the team and both his position coach and coordinator were let go so he was essentially starting fresh regardless.

I’m less concerned about him and more interested in who we can get to play opposite of Redmond. Honestly, by mid season I thought Redmond and Hood were both better corners than Gibson.

You gave us 2 half ass years and you wanted us to back the truck up for you. These kids are gonna get a reality check when the transfer portal becomes more important then recruiting, and it directly reflects on what you’ve done not your “potential “ paying these 5 stars millions to get jaded n leave a year later to get more money is over .

Needs to go to pay for play and you are only payed for games paid and if on injured reserve it’s no more than half and there needs to be bonuses if goals are met and you must play in bowl or tourney to receive end of year bonus.

Heard he used it to pay off the Feds to stay out of jail on an accounting scheme! Lol
