JG was great the first half. He was absolutely terrible in the 2nd. Alot of JGs poor play is because he was literally running for for his life. JG and the oline are the reason we lost. The RBs got blown up in pass protection. GA was able to do this by not respecting JG as a passer. At this point, I really do think it's time to play for the future and take your lumps with a new qb. We know that wont happen, tho.

Did you also get up this morning and catheterize yourself with an 8.7 mm catheter without lubrication, even though it wasn't medically necessary?

I really just don’t understand the reasons not to switch QBs. Can’t say they’re too turnover prone, JG turned it over 3 times in the second half. If we have a gunslinger at QB, even if they throw a couple picks the defense will have to respect their arm, opening the run game. Defenses at this point do not care if JG throws.

Yep! At half I was telling myself (and posting here) that if JG plays like that in the second half UT has a good chance to win this game! Then the wheels fell off. JG just can't sustain exceptional (for his standards) play for 4 quarters. He has a 2 TD a game ceiling and once rattled will never right his ship.

He isn't the sole person to blame for that debacle as there is plenty of blame to go around but he was one of the key components of the failure.

The thought of rewatching that debacle brings to mind the words of the poet (Weird Al)

I'd rather rip out my intestines with a fork
Than watch you going out with other men
I'd rather slam my fingers in a door (yeah)
Again and again and again and again and again
Oh, can't you see what I'm tryin' to say, Darlin'
I'd rather have my blood sucked out by leeches (leeches)
Shove an icepick under a toenail or two
I'd rather clean all the bathroom in Grand Central Station with my tongue
Than spend one more minute with you

When a qb is too unathletic to avoid any pressure and gets sacked we place the blame 100% on the oline. But this oline isn’t terrible. To start the second half jG takes a deep drop back and doesn’t roll away from the pressure. He’s always oblivious to where it’s coming from and how much time he has to hold the ball. The second possession he had an easy throw on 3rd down to keep the chains moving but he’s too unathletic to set his feet and throw it on time and it ended getting picked.
I’m not saying it’s all on JG but I am saying we had no shot with him out there. He’s been the qb for 4 years and the offense has been terrible for 4 years. You don’t see a pattern there?

The oline, for all of their size and strength, not only were they getting whipped physically, but the were also clueless on "who" they should be blocking.

They were reminiscent of a Don Mahoney-coached oline, with at least one of them standing around looking for who to block as the JG was getting flushed from the pocket.

JG wasn't helping them with his lead feet, and determination to hold on to the ball as long as possible, but they played poorly, and even if they were getting beat by a stronger Dline, actually having them all block someone on every play would have made a difference.
