Revving up the Hype Machine: Mass Effect 2

Eh, the DLC's free and they already gave out other free stuff on release day. You don't have to download it if you don't want it. I figure any missions from here on out will cost money.

You're probably right. I just hope the missions that they do release for money are substantial and worth it.

I was wondering why there was all this tank/hover tank concept art in my CE edition. Now I know.

Hover Tank sounds Boss
:)

Looks boss, too:

I finished on Normal last night. I liked it, and I do think it's better than the first one. I do agree that scanning the planets was kind of lame, but I also hated the exploration with the rover in the first one. Maybe the third time is a charm.

I got 42 of the 51 achievements, so now I'm replaying on Insanity. I usually don't replay games but I enjoyed it that much. But I'm also getting Bioshock 2 soon so I may not play the Insanity quest very long.

Insanity is very hard.

I kind of miss the feeling of landing on a big landscape and exploring.

Agreed. People's whines about the Mako were a liitle much, I enjoyed it. They could've left the Mako and tweaked the planet exploration while enhancing the actual missions. Mass Effect 2 could use a few more side missions.

clunky sony FPS? yeah, mass effect 2 rapes it in every way

Killzone 2 does have Multiplayer, which I find myself wishing Mass effect 2 had, even though I can understand why it doesn't. Insanity is brutal. I think I actually replayed one section of the opening mission 10 times before I finally got through it.
I love the game auto-saving a lot more, as there have been times in the first game that I got too comfortable and forgot to save, only to end up dying and losing 30 minutes of work.
It wasn't so much the Mako that bothered me in the first game, it was the annoying mountains you couldn't get over, or which you would go tumbling down and get stuck in ruts on. Make a lot of those mountains just hills which I dont have to grind to a halt on and I'd have been less annoyed.
One of my only gripes would be that they actually made the Citadel (the huge mecca of civilization for all these races) smaller than in the first game. The combat took a little getting used to, especially after having spent the previous 2 weeks or so replaying Mass Effect 1 to get characters to transfer over.

If you are only buying one, buy the most recent one, as it has the most new content. The new character is cool and unique, though.

crap, i had already went ahead and bought the kasumi one before you said that scribbley. i still had alot of fun with it though, even though it was sort of short. i might still get the other eventually since it's really not that much anyway.

Ya, the Kasumi one is one to get if you are going to replay the game, because having a new party member can give a lot of new dialogue. Mission-wise, it is brief (but cool, and unique to the rest of the game(s)).

tried out the shadowbroker dlc last night. pretty good stuff, especially since it ties up some loose ends with liara.
