Revis & Hughes wont be the last ones to leave the program, I'd expect more to come all the way up to August. It's Spring cleaning time for the football team, we have limited number of scholarships open for this upcoming recruiting class so Dooley is doing a little cleaning. He is trying to open up a few more spots so he can upgrade the talent & add more beef.

You will see alot of the '11 recruiting class getting some meaningful snaps this season.

I believe your right on with this. Any ideas whos next. saw Jefferies name mentioned guess he could be the next one.

hope he doesnt clean out too much, dont want the season to be too much of a wash :\

Depending on the schollys we potentially lose, we will sign the fullest class we can despite low numbers to give at this point.

This off season attrition really isn't out of the ordinary... but everything held equal I hope we don't lose anymore d-linemen or linebackers.

Two of which are on the D-line. Fantastic. Although I guess neither of them ever play, so it probably doesn't matter that much.

Evans leaving wouldn't do us any good on the scholarship limit, since he's a senior anyways.

Hughes had off the field issues but he was unblockable when he felt like playing, thats potentially a pretty big difference

At some point, will it not affect us that we have "X" amount of football players in the program but only "Y" amount graduated? I thought that the NCAA kept an eye on that!

None of those 3 would shock me at all. Esp Evans. Was hoping Sykes would get it together and contribute. Just havent had much luck with Alcoa or Maryville kids.

It sucks to lose guys because of our depth problem, but neither of the 3 mentioned would have really played this year.

Jeffery is the only one on the list that could possibly. The other 2 are seniors, there would be no point in encouraging them to leave?

I beg to differ. What about Brandon Warren.... oh wait. Well what about Tyler Maples.... oh wait. Well what about Dustin Lindsey... oh wait. Hmm, good point. Maybe Jaron Toney can hit the weights and be a solid contributor on special teams.

People who don't put in the hard work at practice or in the classroom, cut corners, complain, and can't carry themselves off the field are viruses to the team regardless if they're freshmen or seniors. You can't get rid of them fast enough.

If they are actively disengaged as members of the football team, then their absence would be helpful. I'm not accusing any of those players of having bad attitudes, but if Dooley sees a bunch of loafing babies on the field, then it can be helpful to get rid of them even if they add depth. That sort of attitude can spread easily.
