Review of rules changes

I like the quarters....I got tired of seeing a team in rhythm then having to stop every 4 minutes for a tv timeout

The only thing I dislike is having to take one of your timeouts before half or lose it. I wish the timeouts could be taken whenever you want to take them. Second maybe we could shut down to just one quarter because after the first the lady Vols can't seem to score.

I absolutely loathe quarters. We used to see teams get in a rhythm and exert their will. Now no sooner than they are in the flow of the game it is the end of the quarter.

Every change they make is to emulate what the guys do in the pros. And it never occurs to them that if their game is the same as the men's then the only things that differentiate their version will be the lower skill level and athleticism of the participants. That is not something they can sell.

The only reason I started watching the women decades ago was that it was a purer form of the game and wasn't rigged to produce higher scoring etc... If I want to watch this version of the game then the men play a far, far superior version of it.

I totally agree with Voluable2 re: purer form of game.

and gerruladon reminds me of when there were no high school girl's basketball teams, and the inter murals had to play half court. Because of our "delicate" female times during the month.

I don't think the 4 quarters has made much of an impact on the game, there was a built in TV time out at the 10 minute mark wasn't there ?

all the scoring there talking about is all the mystery fouls being called,I know it needed to be cleaned up a bit,but there going over board with it and yes, that is just my opinion :)

to me they just did these rule changes before they implement them in the Mens game

No.

Under the old rules there was a media timeout at the first stoppage after 4,8,12 and 16 minutes.

Now it is after 5, and at the quarter.

I think too many fouls are called. It slows down the game and often it appears the only time a team scores is from the free throw line. Something must be done because all the fouls are killing the game and making it unbearable to watch.
