Just remember in 2017, we were 0-8, in the SEC...We were the bottom dweller that year, a fully embarrassing year. Pruitt, in his 3rd year has almost flipped the roster to get the big, strong team he envisioned when he took the job. Recruiting has improved, but until recently, S&C was the emphasis since we were at the bottom there as well. I don't know how good S&C is at the moment, but losing Fitzgerald was a big blow in my book.
So, QB play has been good at times, bad at other times...I think JG will be on a short leash going forward just like last year. Maurer and Shrout had their moments, but ultimately, JG was the QB that saved our season and enabled us to go to the Gator Bowl. I suspect it will be true this year as well.
Butch had flipped the script in his 3rd year too. Let’s see how Pruitt’s team looks in year 5 when all our current top players have graduated, transferred, or gone pro. Pruitt’s recruiting is not looking great for 2021 and continuing to struggle this year will result in decommitments from our top recruits.
You know, that 0-8 season we lost to the big 3 by an average margin of 27. I wonder if year 3 under Pruitt will beat that?
Pruitt has done well in getting us into a position where we can out-talent the Vandy's of the world (thank goodness, since he lost to them by 25 his first season). I have yet to see him show any progress against the elite teams we face yearly.
I don't think this guy is ever going to out-coach anyone. He still struggles mightily against Muschamp.
I think to ever win the SEC he's going to need a significant talent advantage and not sure how that's ever possible with Smart and Saban around
I have no clue, I just know we aren't close after a 22 year drout in SEC titles. What do you recommend to get us to that level?Do you think the elite teams are standing pat? No, they were heads and shoulders above us when Pruitt took over and are continuing to recruit and are developing at a high level, so that makes closing the gap that much harder. What do you recommend? Another coaching search...LOL
I don’t see that just yet. Especially he doesn’t “struggle” with Muschamp since he was one play away from being 3-0 against him at UTYou know, that 0-8 season we lost to the big 3 by an average margin of 27. I wonder if year 3 under Pruitt will beat that?

I certainly considered this year's game a struggle. A busted flea flicker and a weird punt play ended up getting us a win against a team we've out-receuited for several yearsI don’t see that just yet. Yeah, I remember how everyone was complaining after the Georgia win how 11 wins in a row was just a mirage.
...NOT.
Started out great, didn't take too long to see the lack of S&C in the App State game though. See Coleman Thomas getting blown up was pathetic...Then during the season, 2 5-star recruits basically just quit the team making you wonder what's going on with the program. But at the end of the day, the 11 game win streak was nice, but the season ended just like the season before...Total under performance...
Recruiting not looking too good, huh? Number 7 in the nation, #3 in the SEC at the moment...
