Republicans Belief in Evolution plummets

Wow, after reading the article, I'm surprised that anyone would even consider the resutls.

The term "evolution" has several meanings, which are often equivocated.

For example, if I ask, "Has the NFL uniform evolved over time?" What do I mean by 'evolved?' In this case, I mean change. Now, what if I said, "the NFL uniform confirms evolution (Darwinism) to be true." You would point out the stupidity of my reasoning. But, the reality is that this fallacy occurs all the time in much more subtle ways, and rarely is it ever pointed out.

Oh, and this doesn't even address the issue of evolution (Darwinism) as a faith. After all, the question asked, 'do you BELIEVE.'

1. Oh lawdy the sky is fallin! I too believe polling 0.00067% of the population is a great indicator of how things are.

2. This poll is skewed simply for the fact that it was a telephone interview. Those will always heavily favor democrats because the Republicans didnt asnwer their phones..they were working.

3. I always enjoy seeing the education level numbers. I'd love to see those broken down by party affiliation. I see a lot of communications, gender studies, women studies, What if Harry Potter Was Real? studies, and psychology majors in that fantasy land called the liberal mind.

I saw that study pop up yesterday, I don't think anyone is surprised at the reactions here. Attacking the poll instead of the results is silly, PEW is not exactly a MSNBC viewer opinion poll.

Most analysis in this report is based on respondents asked about human evolution (N=1,983). An additional 2,023 respondents were asked questions about animal evolution. The margin of error for those asked about animal evolution is +/- 2.9 percentage points.

How is a finding that 43% of respondents who identify with the Republican Party say they believe humans have evolved over time skewed because it is a telephone poll? Skewed toward older Republicans, perhaps, but the respondents say they are Republicans.

Because the republicans they will reach will be geriatrics and obviously overtly religious, if not slightly out of their minds. The animal evolution part proves it. Only an elderly person would have a difficult time grasping the theory of evolution as it pertains to animals. Most probably don't know about the moths in England during the Industrial Revolution. They are old, from simpler times where the bible was the easiest way to explain things.

The rest of us Republicans not born in the stone age are working and paying taxes so the democrats they reached by phone can remain unemployed/on welfare.

Evolution is part of Obamacare so results not surprising.

That makes no sense. If that were true then the poll would heavily favor evolution because Democrats say Obamacare is failing because everyone thinks it was repealed..

Here is a Democrat that speaks so eloquently about Obamacare and the idiots who want to use it. From MSNBC sorry LG I know you wont be able to fire back.

Seriously..people elected this chick? She can barely speak English. And people actually wonder why our collective IQ is shrinking..

I do like how she pretty much calls the Presidents supporters full on retards. You can always count on a Democrat to ridicule their own voting base and have it sail over their heads.

.00067% of the population is not much of a sampling size. I'd give the poll more legitimacy if it had a larger sample size. That is my real beef. The numbers would be skewed even further for Republicans if blacks weren't enslaved by the Democratic party.
