REPORT: Hobbs is Back!

I will see your 20 snaps and raise you 10 !!!

“Yes, he is back,” said Price when asked about Hobbs’ status. “Daevin Hobbs will be back. Now, Moi came back and he played a lot more than I thought he would. I thought he would be on somewhat of a pitch count in that first game. He was not. Is Daevin Hobbs (on a pitch count)? That may be more possible just because he’s not played in two months, and just trying to get him back out there.

“But if you get him for 20 snaps, it’s a huge deal. They rotate so much that playing him 20 snaps is okay. And so can you get him out there for 20 snaps? That would be big — just to add to the defensive interior. But yeah, he’s absolutely back in this football game.”

Hobbs played in all 13 games for the Volunteers last season. Getting him back against Arkansas will give Tennessee added depth along the defensive line — which could be critical in what’s expected to be a high-scoring matchup.

Link to AP on McCoy? I've now seen it posted he's definitely in and out.
Not a AZ fan

"In my opinion, he has every intention to play against Arkansas," said VolQuest's Austin Price on 104.5 The Zone on Tuesday when asked about McCoy. "At some point, though, he has to find his way to the practice field for team periods. I don't mean individual (periods) -- he's been doing that for a while. I mean, team periods.

That doesn't look like a vote of confidence from AP to me. Hubbs on VQ is talking pretty heavily like he won't be available for arky

On how big it was to get Daevin Hobbs back this week…

“Hobbs, that's my guy right there. He's a beast, and he's just such a dynamic player, such a skilled athlete, but also very powerful as well. So getting him back will be humongous for our D line and just our team, really. We had a lot of talks about that, just lifting each other up while we're in the training room and on the sidelines together, really just speaking life to each other. So I can't wait for him to show the world what he's got. I know he's been working hard to get back out there on the field.”

McCoy as of Monday. Some say he’s practiced. Idk if he has been on the field but he def. Has NOT gone thru contact.

Some posted he went thru practice but I was told he went thru drills, only.

Either way and contrary some who posted, he won’t play Saturday. I’m always hopeful for miracles but don’t see one coming this week regarding McCoy.

reporting on a targeted return game without him returning to team practice is just a waste of time

On3 previously reported that this week’s Arkansas game was a target date for a possible return. But McCoy has not gone through a full practice and has not taken any contact yet, as Volquest’s Brent Hubbs previously reported.
