Report: Florida already discussing firing Napier

There could be 15 major coaching openings this season and at least 12. There aren't but a few proven coaches that are attainable for most budgets. It would be foolish to fire a coach right now...it's a sellers market. What proven coach is going to mess with the Florida dumpster fire right now? They are about to over pay for another nobody.

I think Drinkwitz would only go to clear step up, which at the moment is only Penn St. I don't think he would go to UF. Kiffin seems more likely to go to LSU, imo, if/when that job opens.

Doubt Kiffin does at this point, but never know. Drinkwitz is tough to say, I think he’s got a great gig going at Mizzou and don’t think he’d be wise to take a job like Florida. But Florida’s resources and money would be hard to say no to, I’m sure.

My expectation is it’ll either be Jedd Fisch at Washington (Florida alum) or Franklin.

This, why would he cut what he's built at Indiana of all places where he's already making a lot of money to go to a place that has been aimless for almost 2 decades now.

I think it’s just because he’s at Indiana, so everyone thinks he’ll inevitably move on to a bigger program. But the problem with that idea is twofold:

1. The guys 65 years old. I doubt he’d want to restart at another program at such an age.

2. he’s making bank already and now has the backing of Mark Cuban. He’ll be able to get whatever he wants, whether it be money or facility wise. They will match any offer and give him any concession he wants to keep him.

He’s retiring at IU.

I would say he very well could be. He turned Arizona, who was in one of the darkest places in Cfb at the time, into a 10 win team.

His Washington tenure hasn’t been remarkable so far, but his turnaround at AZ was very impressive.

If that happens after beating Texas, the Sunbelt Billy deserves a lifetime contract.

I am sure he is a solid coach but that would probably be a tough sell to UF fans. His overall record is 28-30.

Might as well rip of that band aid and get it over with. If you don't know what you have with Sunbelt Billy by now then there is a problem.

Franklin would be a risky hire imo. His record be top 20 teams is putrid.

He will play 4-5 ranked teams each Saturday during SEC play.

UF could also do a lot worse than Franklin. Hopefully, they find a similar version of Napier.
