Coaching should get a C. Scott had a good game plan and they executed well outside of that horrible 1st and goal series. He called a good game.

Same for Shoop. Outside of the last play of the game, he called a good game.

Way to generous on almost every position. Only John Kelly deserves an A.

As a positive guy I can't disagree with the grades.

Run the freaking ball and we win. I don't understand. The grade would be much higher if you knew actual inside 10 yard plays that score.

I hope CLS learns fast from this. Nothing is over if the pick up and build heavily off this. No matter what VN says. Here's to believing a positive result comes from this.

I agree with their grades (more Nathaniel's than Wade's). I've been watching or listening to Vols games for over 50 years. There have been up times and down times...this is definitely one of the down times.

I agree, as a long time Vol fan I can't remember when the Vols had so many highly rated recruits and yet look like a team at the bottom of SEC.....go figure coach Jones

This is truth. The eye test said Tennessee yesterday. The sidelines is where the game was won and lost. I was hoping the talent that he was bringing in could make up for his gameday shortcomings. No luck with that so far.

The staff signed up for night courses at the Derek Dooley Institute For Coaches That Can't Coach Good and Stuff.

Special Teams play as a whole not necessarily the returners and the punter was atrocious. Medley is about to get benched for a freshman. You can't blame the coaches for the final play, Abernathy made a boneheaded decision, but you can blame them for failing to run the ball inside the 10 yard line. Sometimes they try to get way too complex when the simplest play is the answer. This isn't the first time a more talented UT lost to the Gators in the Swamp.

This is just wrong. Why do people not get football. You and butch both apparently. Well here goes your lesson...when we had he ball at the 9 yard line with 50 seconds left (and Florida only had two to's), no coach in America would've let Florida get the ball again unless a td was scored quickly. That's the only way Florida would've gotten the ball back. We should've made sure we had the last possession. Florida baited us to throw because they too knew the only way for them to get another possession was for us to throw. That's amateur. An average high school coach knows how to handle that situation

You have no idea what your talking about. If we want to win the game we have to score a TD, not a FG. And Florida has really stacked the box. Learn something about football before posting plz.

Wow. The collective intellectual level of a big chunk of our fan base is right there with butch. Point blank...we should've run. Have you not ever heard of a coach ensuring that they have the last possession? Is that not a phrase you've ever heard? The only way Florida should've gotten the ball back is if we'd have score a td on first or second down. No way they should've gotten the ball back with the score tied. It's not really even a football thing...it's common sense

Piss poor coaching, Butch should have got Helfrich at Oregon or someone more creative than someone running his sorry ass offense that is his puppet or yes man. Dumb call on 1 yardline,
