This note is not likely to remain very high on the main page, coach debate is destined to win out for the foreseeable future.

But I'm still watching ballgames, and this Saturday should be a close tilt... Two quality defenses, and two subpar matched offenses.

I'm looking forward to a close game. Go Vols!

Hopefully another loss is in the making, making this train move even faster.

I expect our off-field distractions, in addition to the 2 week preparation period that Spurrier has had for us, to be way too much to overcome.

Unfortunately, at this point, I'm just hoping we aren't flat out embarrassed.

The games have taken on the role of afterthought. For the record OWH, i see carolina's offweek and the fact we just played bama as being enough to say the smart money is on carolina in this one. Not to mention steve spurrier is another guy that has made a living beating up on phil. That list is growing every year. Phillip has to be feeling like a big punching bag at some point, on the field and off.

SC will still have to score. We've got some injuries in the D line that make things evn more worrisome, but this a solid defense.

I'm not confident of a W by any stretch, but this figures to be a good, close game...

I feel we'll see a repeat of what we've been seeing. Not enough offense to win. Defense will play well as usual, but those guys are playing a incredible amount of snaps. Even the best defense would wear out, asking them to do what were asking.

I wish I was going to the game......always have fun in Columbia and like the venue.

I don't think we are going to come away a winner unless the the offense goes into a phonebooth and comes out with a red S on their collective chests. Maybe the defense gets some picks but not enough to carry the game.

If we lose, expect the home boys to be especially obnoxious. Either way, UT be battered and bruised to an even greater extent. This will be a hard hitting game.

Just to toss this out there but does anybody think that Spurrier might have something riding on this? I mean, Since leaving FL the guy hasn't exactly shown much. He bombed in the NFL and I think I have it right that he's currently 26-19 at SC. SC or not I don't know how you escape the heat as much as he has with that record and back to back losses to Vandy. If you added a loss to what is most likely the most moribund Vols team in decades...

Besides South Carolina, who is the other quality defense you think is going to be on the field Saturday?
