After Sat's loss to LSU, my first reaction was predictable. Fire the coaches, expel Ainge, etc. But after some time to calm down, we should all just...

Remember This:

This team is a bunch of 18 to 21 year old kids who trying their best, under incredible pressure, in the toughest football conference in the nation! As far as our coaches go, there are grown professionals and deserve any criticism that comes their way. But lets go a little easier on the players. When I was their age, if I didn't get lost going to class it was cause for celebration. Speaking for myself, at that age in those situations, I would have folded like a cheap map.

GO VOLS! Kick some Wisc. cheddar cheese butt!!:rock:

True but why do grown men/women bash kids because they made a mistake in a "GAME"?

That's exactly what I was about to say

That is true but unless someone has made a less than 2 second decision and is still perfect, I believe we can lay off the bashing of the players.

Once you have walked in their shoes I believe you will have a total different thought process and understanding of what actually goes on out on the field.

I promise you, none of us feel 1/10 as bad as the players do when something goes wrong out on the field

Some of these players try to pretend that they aren't 18-21 year olds. They are "amateur" athletes, but are being given a very fine education and who pays for that education? Where does this money come from?

The players deserve as much criticism as coaches sometimes. Don't play sports if you can't handle the pressure, the criticism, and the downers that come along with the successes, the joy, and the possible money in the future.

18 years old makes you an ADULT. You're expected to act as such, be treated as such, and live life as such.

However, like Ooltewah Vol said, none of us feel 1/10th as bad as the players do when something goes wrong out there on the field.
