Remaining Running Back Targets

The way our roster looks right now we need at least a couple of EE running backs just to get through spring practice. Are any of our potential RB recruits EE's? Weird that we have no walk-on running backs now to help with practice except a little 5'8" guy from GA.

Reid's still in, guys. We hear ya' Rocky. Remember this is VN. There's a whole lot of speed in the SEC, which is the best reason Love's 4.3 speed is still at least a half step ahead of most everyone else. Thunder Reid and lightning Love to back up Hurd and Kamara. BTW: I thought the Abernathy commit's brother who's transferring from Cincinnati's a RB...pretty good one, as I understand. Hey. What's with the flavol08 oversensitivity schtick? Go easy on the kid. It appears he's either trying to write a comedy routine (a very bad one) or someone from suicide watch in St. Louis might wanna' check in on him. Seriously! We've seen far more dysteptic individuals on this site. We all know who they are (Oooooooooooh!).

This would be really scary if Alvin Kamara had not decided to be a Vol. Now it's purely about quality depth for a couple of years - Hurd/Kamara are elite quality at the RB. So which RBs would be the best to develop over time is who they need; not the ones that would make the quickest impact. That's both Reid and Love IMO. The bring two different styles/talents. The coaches may think differently.

I read on Twitter tonight that Paulk might be able to return
Any guesses on who we will sign in February?

Skeet hinted at Bussey and I thought Bussey commits soon. Having a new guy commit might start shaking Reid and the scenario loose.

Here is what I know: Reid made it public knowledge that he was looking around. Some people close to the program hinted that Reid & UT may be parting ways, in fact Hubbs laid it out pretty raw for us. Tonight Reid said he hasn't decommited yet, so that could just mean it's not official yet or it could mean that things have changed. He still plans to visit Georgia, Louisville and maybe G Tech before he makes a decision.

The dominoes will start falling in place soon, like as soon as tomorrow when Bussey announces his decision. We've got 4 guys left on our board that I know of. Bryce Love, Kendall Bussey, John Kelly, & Rocky Reid. We were recruiting some other guys like Dauphine, J. Frazier, Weber, etc. but all those ships have sailed.

Bryce Love - It's down to Stanford and Tennessee. He has an official visit lined up at Stanford for the 16th and Tennessee for the 23rd. You could say it's a good sign that we get the last OV, however Stanford has been making a really strong push for him. His comments after those visits will tell alot. Should decide Jan 30th or early Feb.

Kendall Bussey - He is announcing tomorrow and the Aggies are favored, but there have always been rumblings of the Dad really favoring Tennessee so something could happen here.

Johny Kelly - Michigan St has been recruiting him the longest and are probably favored here. Kelly talked about visiting Jan 30th, so that could make things interesting if he does decide to visit.

Rocky Reid - Will take a look around. Likely visiting Georgia, Lousville, and G Tech. Will make a decision late.

The other guy I don't really know if we are recruiting is Keyshawn Vaugn. I think he named Louisville his leader recently(?).

Beyond that we've got some quality guys to add depth with Joc Bruce & Micah Abernathy (some would say Perry but I disagree there). They aren't world beaters but fortunately for us, Abernathy actually looks really solid as a RB and Bruce looks shifty as well. So we've got some help there.

As for Paulk, Deer Park said he ain't coming back so I'd go with that - the guy is usually money on these things.
