Why Worry ?
- Dobbs still looks limited and so-so in decision making.
- Chance Hall injury may be bigger than we thought.
- 3rd and 10+ we got nothing, we are gonna have to make some plays in this situation.

Why be encouraged?
- Once Shoop figured out what they were doing, zero points after 2Q.
- We won a game where we played AWFUL, that would not of happened last 5-6 years.
- Aaron Medley looks sold, will be a big deal later on.
- no serious injuries.
- Preston Williams and Josh Malone are gonna be good if when they touch the ball.
- Got some breaks. Recovering fumble felt like opposite of LSU 10 or Georgia 13 crap.

Why Chill out?
- New defensive scheme takes a game or two to really get going, the D will be fine.
- Got some bad, bad calls and it changed the game at times (reviewing Smith catch, missed block in the back, false starts wher App state was clapping), really killed some offensive momentum we did have.
- 1989 we survived a horrid Colorado St team 17-14, and went on to go 11-1....1998 Syracuse...bad first game is not indicative of a season.

Today was Coach Fulmer's birthday, and th first time we have won on his birthday since he left. Maybe we healed the Fulmer curse today and only good days ahead.

The oline just scares the hell out of me. It doesn't matter how talented you're at in other postions on offense, if the oline sucks, your offense sucks.

I'm still worried about Preston Williams. No reports yet but he was limping pretty badly after the game. Hoping he is okay because he is going to be a big key to our offense this year.

Our line play, on both offense and defense, is a big cause for concern. They did get a bit better toward the end of the game, but our lines on both sides of the ball spent a lot of time getting manhandled by Appy St. If we don't get a lot better in the trenches the season will not turn out the way everyone around here is hoping it will.

I thought Barnett was disruptive in the game but other then that the dline looked outplayed

Appy ST did a lot of cut blocking, and they did it efficiently and effectively.

Just not a lot you can do when when you're constantly getting your legs knocked out from under you.

I agree about the o line. That performance was pathetic at best.
The d line impressed me in the second half. About the only plays they could move the ball on were reverses and jet sweeps. Anything else was shut down for the most part.

Believe it or not D actually showed me something tonight. Shutting them out second half was huge even without our best defensive player and leader. Also they were on the field a lot. With the O's underwhelming performance through out it could have been easy to give up. But they locked it down instead.

Yeah, I was so worried they might fall apart without their leader out there. But hey they stepped up when they needed to.

2016 App State is not 1998 Syracuse! They beat # 13 Michigan, # 16 VT and # 19 Miami.

Don McNabb - 1st round
Rob Conrad - 2nd round
Kevin Johnson - 2nd round

I'd say app state might have a few decent players.
