25+ year old Gobert > Current Boogie...but 22 year old Gobert > Boggie??? Hell nah.

Cousins 24ppg, 12.7rpg, and 1.7bpg. Rudy Gobert can't do anything outside 10ft. Give him credit for shooting a very high percentage close and being a better blocker. But I'll take Boogie all day right now. You're completely right about the potential though. Dude will be a monster in a few years.

I know we won't agree on the stats. When I look at the stats, Gobert is clearly better, but we prefer different stats.

Just look at it from this perspective:

How exactly did the Jazz do 9 games better than the Kings? Did you see what happened when they fired Kanter, who is apparently good, and started Gobert? The Jazz had one of the best records to close out the year, despite poor PG play and no Alec Burks. It's a team accomplishment, but Gobert was definitely the driving force behind a team that significantly outperformed expectations.

They fired Kanter? :) Not saying Gobert isn't good because he is and him starting definitely improved Utah. But removing a malcontent like Kanter probably did wonders for chemistry. Hell look at Boston once Rondo was moved and they brought in Thomas.

Boston did do better without Rondo, but they got Thomas and Crowder in the trade, who were both big contributors. In my opinion, this is a point in favor of Marcus Smart, as well. I don't see it as a point against Gobert.

I said "fired" because the Jazz got next to nothing for Kanter.

BTW, Crowder and Evan Turner were both metrics guys coming out of college, but failed early. They both finally had good seasons this year.

And I blame Dallas for Crowder's underwhelming first few years. They played him at PF, and he just can't do that well enough to play most his minutes there.

I wasn't knocking Gobert in anyway, but getting rid of a Rondo or Kanter will greatly improve team chemistry. I mentioned Thomas and Crowder has been solid even if he gives me motion sickness watching him play. Smart is tough (my preseason ROY) and I think highly of him but he is horribly inefficient

I was big on Turner coming out of college.

Smart is definitely not a scorer, but he was an elite NBA defender the second he stepped on the court, and he's a decent distributor.

Definitely. When him, Bradley and Crowder are on the floor together, they might have the best perimeter defending trio in the league.
