Vol fans approaching the Mississippi State game. A story in pictures.

Going into this season, we weren't sure what would happen, but hoped for the best as usual.

Then? Then we had our first game against Georgia State...

Yeah, that happened. But we prepared for the next week and were somewhat excited about alcohol sales in Neyland.

We played a little better, but still same up short.

But at least we had a reprieve the next week. A win, finally.

Then, we came to "I hate everything Florida to include sunshine" week. We looked okay and then...yeah, nope.

We pretty much figured out we were screwed this year.

At least we had the bye week to recover and knew we wouldn't take a loss that week and suffer more emotional heartbreak.

And on to UGA week. Some of the folks said "we can win this!" Most were:

But we had a new quarterback, which provided a little excitement.

And stayed competitive in the first half.

Yet, it ended in another loss...

So, heading into the MSST game, most fans at this point kinda feel what's on the horizon.

And are preparing early.

For the inevitable outcome:

CJP isn't inspiring confidence.

People are warned about preparing for the coming disaster. Some don't listen.

Thursday, a glimmer of hope for a victory remains with changes in the starting lineup:
