i thought the refs did a very good job last night which to me was suprising but i think that we had a pass interference call i believe it was ainge throwing a lob to vinson. The cals defenders were practiculy hugging him

There were a few bad calls that went Cal's way. They were probably for the over on Cal.

Did anyone think it was pass int. on the vinson when ainge threw the lob it looked like he was getting hugged.

They were Pac 10 refs. They made a few bad calls, but they were not the reason why we lost the game.

One question - When Cal was on our goal line... 3rd and goal and Longshore snuck it in for a TD? Was it a TD? I was at the game and from where we saw it he wasn't in till after he was down and kept scooting in.

I didn't have a side view though - we were facing the play so I could be wrong. But I was surprised they didn't atleast go to review it.

I was hoping the fumble would be over turned but after watching it on the big screen it looked like a fair call.

Overall, pretty decent called game I think - although I agree on the Vinson one and I think there may have been 1 or 2 more pass int. but wouldn't have changed the outcome.

3rd quarter ainge threw a lob to vinson if he would have caught it we would have been on the 3 yrd line. so yeah it was significant play.

There were some calls that went unnoticed like the block in the back on the cal td punt return. the PI call that went uncalled as well as the one called on us. There were also tons of holding calls that should have been called that were not. But, if you need to gripe about the refs then you didnt deserve to win anyway.

I must have been in the car listening to Kessling to have missed that play. Either way, the radio guys (for the few minutes in the game it took me to drive from Old City to Kingstoon Pike) didn't seem to make a stink about it, and everything that I saw last night looked like it was pretty much a well called game.

I did see that block in the back on that play.. was looking for the flag on the return and it never came.:cray:

the vinson play should've been pass interference. And a few other missed calls occured but don't think it would've mattered if all the calls went our way. We just got outplayed.

I thought all of the calls that were made were right but they could have called some that weren't made, like when Cal's OT tackled our DE.

I just dont understand how they get away with using their own refs in a non conference game. Thats crazy.

another game i watched was the same thing. I think it was the syracuse washington game that had all big east refs. It kinda suprised me.

Speaking of Meshawn Jackson - Their fans are taking his heisman campaign overboard. It's just dumb. They chanted his name for about half the game.. on every punt return.. and boo'd when we punted it to the side..

Then at halftime the students had cards they'd flip over that would spell out stuff - One read Desean Jackson for Heisman... get real Cal fans. Them and their high school pep-rally football games.

i have to admit the punt return was impressive, well not as impressive considering our coverage team the past few years, but the way Herby and Musberger were talking it up baffled me. It kind of reminded me of the Woodson heisman campaign :ermm:

McCoy definitely got blocked in the back on the punt return. Right in front of the returner. Watch it on CSS later this week and you'll see.

Vinson was interfered with and it was significant b/c at the time we were only down by ten and the ball would have been at about the five if they called it. If we score there then it's only a three point game with the whole fourth to play.

There were some holds especially on the outside that weren't called and the one where our DL was pulled down by the CAL guy.

I mean Fulmer seemed to want to say something about the officials, but decided not to do so. He rarely complains about the refs.

I still think we would have lost b/c our guys didn't seem to want it as bad as their guys and I think going down one day earlier might have taken the edge off, too. Not sure, but it's hard to tell how that can effect your team.

Also, the reason you saw Big East officials at the Syracuse/Wash game is b/c that's the way the Pac 10 wants it. They use their own at their home games and you use your own at your home games. This needs to be addressed by the Pac 10 b/c no other conf. does it this way and teams are going to stop scheduling OCC with them. Just ask Oklahoma and Stoops.
