Did anyone else notice how many times Tennessee would be set and essentially ready to snap the ball but, had to wait for the official to start the clock and get out of the way?

Can Jones tell them before the game that we have very up tempo offensive scheme and they need to be prepared?

I think it effected the flow of the game and gave APP State time to get a better look at what might be coming.

I think if we sub in players the defense is allowed to sub in, hence why they keep us from snapping the ball. I don't know this to be fact or if we subbed in all of these scenarios, just speculation and hearsay (hopefully someone can confirm).

Aside from that however, the refs did everything the could to give the game to Appy State. Terrible officiating.

Isn't goading the fans considered unsportsmanlike conduct? Pretty sure a few players on App did that.

Everyone one of those times you are talking about we subbed in new players. If we sub the officials have to allow the defense to make subs too.

When the opponent does that, you get a free timeout and chance to get water, sub and do whatever, and their player has to sit out. It's not like you lose all that much.

You can't sub without allowing the D a chance to sub....you've got to be able to run several plays with the same 11...

This is my biggest problem with the WR rotation. If Butch wants to run an up-tempo system you need to reduce the rotation some.

That was the correct call. Our line was down and set the entire time. Once the ball is marked ready for play and the line comes set if you move its a false start.

Yes that was BS. They are only suppose to do that, if we sub to allow the dfense to sub.

Officiating was terrible last night the whole game.

Yes you do. With all of the injury delays, App. State was able to keep their ones fresh and were not forced to sub nearly as often. It equalizes the talent and takes away the benefit of depth.

One player sitting one play is a pretty easy sacrifice to keep from subbing the rest of the guys. Tennessee can run 5-6 plays easily within the times of some of those injury timeouts.

It's the same reason Saban got all bent out of shape about the substitution rules a few years ago. It was costing him one of his advantages.

I didn't catch that on TV. I was too busy complaining about Brent Musburger's commentary. The dude would not STFU about Michigan's upset loss a DECADE ago as well as every single one of UT's F up's (over and over and over). Also he would talk about weird crap in this creepy, low tone. I thought Uncle Verne was bad; good lord.

I guess I need to re-watch the game. I just noticed it that a lot last night. Of course based on what I saw with Tennessee's offensive play calling, I surprised to hear that we subbed in players that often.

I've got bad news.

The no TD call was right.
The targeting call was right.
The reversal on the Josh Smith sliding catch was right.
The false start call was right.
The referee delaying our snaps was right.

Only missed call I saw all night was they missed a block in the back on the long App State punt return.

It wouldn't be Volnation if someone wasn't indirectly trying to blame officiating.

If you're doing this after an almost loss to App St., you probably just need to stop.

On the josh smith call I'm pretty sure we ran a play and then they wanted to review it which is BS

But so do they! If they are doing it, why do you need a break? If they do it its to gain time to adjust, rest, and get ready.

Nevermind they reversed Josh Smith's catch after the next play not only took place, but was over and both teams were lining up for the second play after Josh's catch.

No they didn't. The referee got buzzed on the field before the next play. We just went so fast that he couldn't get everybody's attention before the ball was snapped.
