First off I want to say that this now feels like a real coaching search compared to pre-Schiano. Don't get me wrong it definitely has an icky vibe.

I digress.

My thoughts on Currie's recent outreach toward Cut, Tee, Brohm, and Grundy.

I think it's a slap in the face that he is reaching out to Tee and Cut. Not that they would be bad hires but it just shows he wants to shut VN up. Why wouldn't he talk to them before? Obviously, he had his guy and now to please you he's trying to bring back familiar faces to appease the fans. Not necessarily to win but to please.

Brohm-safe hire but most of all... Cheap

Gundy-sounds like thanks to PM and a large salary it could be a thing. This is what he needs to get done imo.

Kiffin-not going to happen unless it's literally desparation again. Has Lane grown up and ready to commit? Maybe. But he did what he did and that's something Currie doesn't want to risk hiring because he knows he can't have a backlash like Schiano

Also they say no PR is bad PR... And we've been on headlines at ESPN for a few days now, especially with who we are interested in

Icky vibe for sure. Gundy's played us once for a raise already and this might be the second time. Or he actually wants to leave OK State and come to UT. We'll find out soon which one it is.

One of the worst things about this imo is how Haslam, Currie, and whoever else involved in the search seems to want nothing to with anyone who has UT roots. Granted quality head coaches with UT roots aren't really out there, but if Gundy doesn't come to UT would you rather have unproven mid level coach again or unproven Tee Martin? Or Kiffin?

If Gundy says no, Kiffin first with an airtight buyout if he leaves and a 4-5 million dollar salary pool for staff.

If no Kiffin, go all out and give Tee a blank check to hire a staff.

I cant see hiring any guy who's NEVER been a head coach before, I don't care if he's Neyland's great grandson.

I know football coaches don't sit but "The biggest move in sports is one chair over".

My understanding is that Currie is sitting in the corner while others are conducting the search. As soon as we hire a coach, Currie should be gone...for incompetence and Haslem has his problems with court, the Browns and should feel that the power will shift to the correct alliance...

Davenport does not need to rubber stamp anymore hires....with regards to Haslem. Blackburn should be sitting in the office of AD. He was groomed for the position and put the hours in under several ADs to earn it.

Very calm and understands the ins and outs of the UT Family....No one except Haslem would disagree with that, they did and we got a Bobble Head on Stilts.

Yes, I'll have Tee, but no Kiffins, thank you.
