I did hear some positive news today. Hoping for a quick recovery and return.

I think since Hoover is such a big OF, they are going to stick Abernathy out in the OF somewhere (either CF or RF)

I think Abernathy starts. Just think there’s better hitters if Abernathy isn’t producing at the plate.

Why would they ever cancel it? All the SEC coaches talk about how great a venue and opportunity it is for their teams

We would go almost a full 2 weeks between the last time we played and when regionals start.

Coaches would hate that

Cancel all conference tourneys and start regional play.

True but the format is impossible for all but the top 4 teams. Playing a Tuesday or Weds game and having to win 4 or 5 games in 6 days is just screwed up.

The Tulane alum in me appreciates this format. In 2023 Tulane ran the table in the American Conference tournament in Clearwater, and got the automatic bid to the regionals, despite having a losing record. That victory got them sent to LSU for the regionals. I won’t bore you with the details of what happened in Baton Rouge.

The Green Wave also ran the table in the American Conference tournament in 2024, getting the auto bid.

It dawned on me that Tulane would be unstoppable if they moved all regular season home games to Clearwater, the site of the American Conference tournament

Just keep it like it is. Most folks love the sec baseball tournament. I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon so you may as well enjoy the baseball games. GBO

Not a bad first post but he seems to hit better coming in to pinch hit . He does look like a good fielder .

Myatt is an exceptional PHer but isn’t a RF. Eisfelder will likely man RF until/if Chapman returns. Myatt could play LF or 2B but Abernathy is the best defensive 2B on team.
