Seen posts where recruits may look elsewhere after their visits to other schools. I was wondering what does schools like Arkansas and Texas have that Tennessee does not possess. I mean in my opinion the Vols have a better fan base, according to many posts an excellent facility being prepared, and one of the best if not the best atmospheres than any stadium in the U.S. on Saturday. It's a great possibility that Dooley can offer playing time and also be seen in nearly 90% of the time on a major station on Saturdays. Is there something more that other colleges can offer that Tennessee can not provide?

Campus needs major renovations, most importantly these teams mentioned have had much more recent success on the field.

When Kiffin bolted that took the prestige from Tennessee IMHO, and until we can get back to a bcs bowl we will still be a second tier team in these kids eyes.

Of all the things Kiffin did to us while he was here, this is by far the most damaging thing he did. One can't quantify it clearly, but there can be little doubt about negative impact it has had on the overall self-confidence that UT fans and alumni have in their program.

The thing that is so frustrating about the whole thing is that the program he left for is second to UT in so many areas: Both programs are on equal footing in all time wins and winning percentage, UT has far better facilities (Kiffin even admitted to this in an interview) and the campus life is far better (downtown LA vs. the strip, uh, I think I will take K-town.). Furthermore, all the fans on here know UT's record for putting great players into the NFL over it's entire history and in recent years, in particular.

Tennessee has got to shift perception to get back where we were not so long ago.

Kiffy carried prestige? I'm pretty sure there was little love lost after he left. It set us back, but let's be honest, dude was a chode.

LA

Pros: women, nicer weather, more culture, more progressive thinking, high tech jobs, movie stars, medical pot dispensaries, close to vegas, epicenter of the porn industry :whistling:

Cons: smog, traffic, crowded, super liberals, expensive, barbara boxer, nancy pelosi, michael moore

I don't think it was implying the coach carried prestige, but that when he bolted it kind of proved how little we had.

Move the liberals part to pros. All these hyper-conservative Bible thumpers here in the Bible belt are incredibly annoying. My family history is full of southern Baptist preachers as well.

Usc is a far more attractive job and school for recruits,Im a big Tennessee fan,but i acknowledge thats true. They have more tradition,a better fight song i love Rocky Top,but ''Fight On'' and such i mean cmon Usc's fight song is epic. And to most people except us Vol fans L.A. trumps Knoxville.
