For the recruitnicks, was Dooley responsible for getting Antonio Richardson to commit?

If memory serves correct, I believe he was and correct me if I'm wrong. This signing might be the most pivotal of the first few signing classes in terms of the extra benefits he seems to be displaying.

All information about him leads me to believe that he is a leader by example and action( i.e. he is involved in every activity with the team and he is respected). When next year comes, he will have hopefully demonstrated All American proven talent and the dividends off the field could be just as meritorious.

He might be the rock, or foundation we have so desperately hoped for in leading this team and it's character on and off the field.

Yes. You may be thinking of James Stone, who did not like Kiffin, but came on board when Dooley was hired.

And for Tiny's impressive measurements, he still has to translate that to the field (Jacquez Smith)

Yeah I remember Stone's high school coach's reply whenever he was asked why he didn't like Kiffin and his response was, "Have you met the guy?"

I agree. But in all fairness the intangibles that Tiny brings are rare indeed. Every program has a Jacquez who looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane (bad cliche, I know) but there just aren't many Tiny's out there. No man should be that huge and lean at the same time.

Not just his physical ability, but the mental and social aspects. Everything said about him is positive, from his sincerity and genuine attitude and demeanor to his likeability and character.

I love Tiny but hard to argue with that - he and mccullers are two that I am really keeping my eye on when the season opens up

I think that is more due to his injury at summer/start of the year as opposed to his playing ability though - we shall see this year and i think we will see a beast

If he stops thinking so much then reacting he will look be more like tarzans bad azz uncle on roids.

Plus he stuck with his commitment to Fulmer, Kiffin and the Dooley. Lets let him have the same coach for more than one year before we lable him Jane

There are other factors like loyalty to the homestate school, prominence of the program, recent success/image of the program, location, etc that can be as important or more important... but the HC is almost always a deal breaker or deal maker. They know that their personal recruiter and position coach could leave for a better job if they're successful. The HC rightly or wrongly is seen as the guy they expect to be there.

I am supportive of Dooley and hope he does well. I do not believe he has yet failed or proven he cannot coach. I also do not believe he has succeeded or proven that he can coach. HOWEVER, Dooley MUST show signs of life this year. I think he even needs to beat expectations. Most outside the fanbase seem to put that at 7 or 8 wins. The reasoning is the same as it was 2.5 years ago when I commented on what he had to do and by when. UT cannot afford a coach on the "hot seat" for very long. Unlike states with lots of blue chippers who will go to a school due to loyalty, UT has to raid other states. The areas of Tn with the most talent have less loyalty to UT than you see for UGA for instance.

I don't think it is "fair" that Dooley may not get sufficient time to complete the rebuild. Some have suggested he get a full 4 year cycle of recruits. IMO, they just can't afford it recruiting wise.

I agree with your assessment of DD and the recruiting situation. You have a good point about needing a good year to boost recruiting. I would hope we have that good year and give DD the full 4 year cycle of recruits. I don't want to go through another coaching change because of the instability of new coaches--again. I believe DD will win if given a full experienced roster. But, your point is well taken.
